Costas Palamidis thinks he has Sophie Patterson all figured out the day he arrived at her home only to have her answer the door absolutely stoned or drunk or something and she promptly gets sick. He cleans her up and while part of him walks away, he needs her and just can’t do that. Boy, is he in for a big surprise when he discovers that he misjudged Sophie and she isn’t at all what he thought.
Sophie just buried her mother, who also happened to be her best friend, when a stranger shows up on her doorstep and wants her help. Yeah, right. Why should she go to Greece and help these relatives who disowned her mother just because she wanted to marry a man she loved instead of one who was arranged for her? In fact, Sophie had even tried to give them a second chance by contacting her grandfather when her mother was dying and he didn’t even have the courtesy to talk with her, let alone her mother. They had no time for Sophie and her mom so she had no time for them.
That is until Costas gets a word in edgewise and explains he needs her help—for his little girl. When a child is at stake, Sophie just can’t say no but she doesn’t have to be happy about it.
Annie West has created a really cute love story with two people butting heads on a regular basis. They make judgments about each other, jump to conclusions and generally have a lot of goofs in the relationship before they finally get it right. The Greek’s Convenient Mistress is a nice read for that quiet evening at home and you want something with a touch of humor and a happy ending.
