I feel like I stumbled onto a buried chest of treasure when I opened this book. Landon Snow and the Auctor’s Riddle is the first book in the Landon Snow series. I was absolutely enchanted and captivated from the first to the final pages.

Landon Snow is just turning 11 and receives two wonderful gifts from his grandparents. Later that night, his dream stone and new Bible work together with unknown forces to open a secret passageway that takes Landon to the Button Up Library. From there, magical things happen and he ends up in another world. Can he solve the Auctor’s Riddle, or will he become trapped in this other place forever?

In a style that reminds me a little bit of C.S. Lewis, I found the story to be wonderful. The settings and characters are described so well that you are pulled into the places. Well written in such a way that I believe both girls and boys will enjoy the book—adults, too. I know I had a grand time with this book and am in the process of getting the rest of the books in the series to review as well.
