In the second installment of the Landon Snow series, we find Landon trying to convince his sister Holly of his adventures with Vates and the rest. When they return to Button Up to visit their grandparents, Holly and Landon seek to rediscover this fantastic world. They notice some strange shadows going into the bookcase, but they have no idea what the shadows are really about.
We rejoin Vates, Melech and the rest and learn about the shadows. They are from Malus Quidam, the evil one. He is trying to destroy what is left of the good in the forest and take over everyone and everything for himself. The worst part of all, Holly has been sucked into Ludo's web and doesn't want to leave.
Can Landon and his friends save Holly as well as the rest of the world? How can he ever fight the total darkness coming?
Another fantastic journey to Wonderwood. I found this book to be as well written and captivating as the first book. I am pleased to tell readers that you can pick this book up without having read the first book and it will make complete sense. Mr. Mortenson has done an outstanding job of giving a new reader enough information to understand what is happening without boring the returning reader.
When you open the book, plan to stay up late as you won't want to put it down until you've read through the last page.
