Athena Crawford is content in the life she is living. She is close to her family, especially her twin sister Asia and her friends/sorority sisters live around as well. However, when her grandmother passes away, Athena takes a long look at her life and decides she is ready to push herself into something new, ready to step out in a leap of faith. She accepts a teaching position on La Isla del Azur in the Caribbean. How can anything in the beautiful tropical islands be tough?
Collin Winslow is the education project’s director and he has plans for the project. He wants to stay focused on his plans, but at the same time, all of the women who are teachers for him in this compound fall under his protection. That hasn’t been a problem until Athena Crawford shows up and all of his best laid plans fall apart.
Michelle Monkou creates some beautiful scenery for the reader to enjoy. If you close your eyes with her imagery, you can almost smell the fragrance from the lush tropical flowers. Athena is a strong-willed woman with a lot of class but yet she questions herself much like the rest of us do. She has strength of her convictions though and knows that her heart wants Collin. The plotline itself is as old as time but yet Michelle has made it a fun read. Isn’t wanting the untouchable a scenario we can all understand? 
That is what she created between the administrator and the teacher. However, Only in Paradise finds a way for the heart to work through all of the roadblocks the character’s situations create.
