Poor Rachel Yoder. Trouble is always finding her, and this time it’s due to her lack of patience and her need to be in control. From a sled race gone off the path (one way or another she’s going to beat Orlie and his new sled) to mistakes in the kitchen (she can follow a recipe and practice her spelling words at the same time) to painting disasters (spilled paint shouldn’t be a problem to clean up), Rachel continues to take short cuts even though they cause her nothing but trouble.
Poor, poor Rachel. She means well but control and impatience can only be a combustible combination.
Poor Rachel, she always finds trouble somewhere, or maybe the trouble finds her.
I thoroughly enjoy learning lessons right along with Rachel, seeing them from a different perspective. The examples are varied and numerous to show the reader how easily simple desires and a bit of haste can turn disastrous; the story in itself is quite enjoyable.
Ms. Brunstetter makes Rachel and all of her exploits come alive!
